Who are Eton Handyman?

Eton Handyman was founded and is run by Joseph White. Joseph is an experienced handyman having previously worked for Edinburgh Handyman in Scotland. All jobs are done by our own team of dedicated and experienced staff. None of our work is subcontracted out so you can be assured of consistent quality. We only employ people that we know you will be happy to have in your home.

Do you tackle bigger jobs?

Yes we do. We can tackle the larger jobs such a kitchen/bathroom building, floor laying and decking etc. charging at a discounted day rate for jobs of more than 2 days.

Do you employ any CORGI or NICEIC registered staff?

The majority of work most people need done does not require certification by these authorities; where certification is necessary we can arrange it and will advise of the costs prior to work being undertaken.

What does the £20 per half hour include?

We charge half hourly to keep your costs down. (£30 for the first half hour then £20 per half hour thereafter. The price does not include parts or materials which you can supply or which we can source and bill you for (we carry lots of small parts). The £20 per half hour is a labour only fee.

Do your handymen carry many parts?

We travel by motorbike in order to meet our appointments promptly so we are limited in what we can carry. All our handymen do carry the most commonly required parts with them such as screws, wall fixings, electrical connectors etc. If we need to go and get something for your job we do bill for that.

Can you come and give a free estimate?

We can usually give you a fairly accurate estimate over the phone. Once our handyman arrives at the job he will be able to confirm this, and at this point, if it looks like the job will take a lot longer than expected, you can change your mind without being charged!

What are your hours of business?

Our office is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6pm and our handymen usually work between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday. Please do contact us if you require a handyman out of these hours as we can usually arrange this.

How do your appointments work?

Don't worry you won't have to wait in all day for your Eton Handyman, we give you a time that we will arrive and we always aim to be within half an hour of this. Usually we are right on time however we will call you to advise if we are running late (or early!)

Who do you work for?

We do many jobs for private householders and also general maintenance for office based companies. For private householders we would ask that you pay the handyman at the end of the job (we accept cash or cheque). For our business clients we are happy to invoice you (payment on 30 day terms). Discounted prices are available for regularly scheduled work (i.e. weekly/monthly maintenance).

Are you looking for more handymen/women?

We are always interested to hear from bright, enthusiastic, experienced people and our team is growing. If you are interested, please use the contact Joseph to ask for an application form.
